We, the City of Star Parks and Recreation committee are dedicated to providing and preserving the highest quality of parks and services for as many citizens as possible with the resources available.

Latest News:

The City of Star is happy to announce the addition of Star resident Kim Ingraham as the 1st  Parks and Recreation  Coordinator.    Local residents will soon enjoy having a variety of activities to participate in all year long.

Mayor Nathan Mitchell made the announcement at the City Council meeting on April 6th and said he is “very excited that Kim is on board and is very confident in her abilities to implement recreation programs that will benefit all of the residents of Star.”

A volunteer committee has formed and will continue to meet the 2nd Wednesday of every month @ 6:00pm in City Hall.  Resources are being looked into, community input considered, as well as volunteers recruited.  As these all come together programs will form and grow accordingly.

The activities currently under consideration are: Co-ed adult softball, T-ball, River Birch partners golf (1 experienced player required), Needlepoint for all ages, Hunter Safety, Swimming trips to YMCA, Youth Sports Camps, Frisbee golf, a Bike Safety Clinic and ride and rafting.

The plan is to begin programs for all ages in the community by mid June. The Parks and Recreation group will also be providing some terrific activities for kids at Star’s Hometown Celebration on July 10th.

If you are interested in volunteering, or would like to inquire about upcoming events, please contact Kim or Tom.
