Star City Parks
Star is proud of its growing park system. People of all ages are encouraged to enjoy each park and its various amenities.
Blake Haven Park
11225 W. Blake Drive
Blake Haven Park is 4.01 acres that was donated to the City by the Dale & Violet Blake in 2003. The park features playground equipment for younger children, swings, horseshoe pits, and open space for activities. Tables, barbeques and a gazebo for gatherings are available. The park also includes a new rest room facility and a soon to be completed stage area.
Westpointe Park
1641 N. Spring Hollow Way
Westpointe Park is located at the end of N. Star Road on Floating Feather Road. This 2.4 acre park was donated to the City in 2008 and was developed as a dog friendly park with plenty of space to let your dog run or play in the water. Picnic tables and benches for sitting are available.
River Park and Walking Path
1000 S. Main Street
The River Park was purchased in two parcels in 2009 and 2011 to create a 4.76 acre park as an entry to a walking path along the Boise River. The public can enjoy a leisurely walk along the nature trail, rest at strategically placed benches, throw their fishing poles into the river, or picnic in the grassy park area. Picnic tables and portable restrooms are available.
Hunters Creek Sport Complex
Corner of N. Star and Floating Feather Roads
The City purchased the 18.04 acres at the corner of Star Road and Floating Feather Road to create a sports complex for the citizens of Star. The complex will feature sport fields for adult and youth baseball, soccer, football, a skateboard park and picnic areas. The park is currenly under construction but in order to get an idea of what is planned for the park you can download the parks Master Plan.
Reservations
If you would like to reserve Blake Haven Park for a private function, please submit a completed Park & Facilities Reservation Agreement along with appropriate fees to Star City Hall. For more information regarding park reservations contact Star City Hall at (208) 286-7247.
