CITY OF STAR

Scholarships Available for Star Students

Graduating seniors in the Star area are invited to apply for the Star Mayor's Scholarship this year.  This is the first year that scholarships are available to eligible students that live in the Star area. The first Annual Star Mayor's Golf Tournament was held in the Fall of 2009 and the proceeds from the tournament, and future  tournaments, will fund the scholarships. Scholarships will be awarded up to $2000.

Students applying for the scholarships must be planning post-secondary education and live within the boundaries of the Ada/Gem County line to the north, Chinden to the south, Linder Road to the east, and Kingsbury Road to the west.  Scholarships will be awarded based on scholastic achievement, leadership, and community service as determined through their application, letters of references, and interview.

A committee of Star Lions Club members will select the scholarship recipients.  Applications are available at Eagle High School and Middleton High School, or are available online at www.StarIdaho.org or www.StarLions.org.  Deadline for application submission is March 15, 2010.
