ACHD's Star Road Pathway Project

people walking across a street

ACHD is designing pedestrian and bicyclist facilities for Star Road between Main Street and State Highway 44. The purpose of this project is to improve safety and increase connectivity for bicyclists and pedestrians.

Construct a 10-foot-wide temporary asphalt multi-use pathway with extruded curb along the west side of Star Road between State Highway 44 and just south of Hercules Drive. The pathway will continue onto the east side of Star Road between the proposed pedestrian hybrid beacon and Main Street.

  • The asphalt pathway will continue onto the south side of Main Street and stop at Star Riverwalk Park.
  • Install a new pedestrian hybrid beacon (PHB) across Star Road just south of Hercules Drive.
  • Construct a new 10-foot-wide pedestrian bridge across the Lawrence Kennedy Canal.
  • The existing sidewalk along the west side of Star Road, near Hercules Drive, will be widened to a 10-foot concrete pathway.
