Filing an Application

The Unified Development Code for the City of Star requires all applicants submitting any type of land use application requiring a public hearing to have a pre-application meeting with the planning staff. Another example of a required pre-application meeting would be if a final plat has had several changes that render it not in substantial compliance with the Preliminary Plat.

A pre-application meeting will allow the applicant and administrator to review the application materials together. A checklist review of each application will be included with application forms for the applicant’s reference when compiling application materials.

If the application materials are certified complete at the time of the pre-application meeting, the Planning Department may accept the application at that time. If the application packet requires additional materials, the applicant may be required to schedule a second meeting before submittal.
