Hometown Celebration Parade

ALLOWABLE ENTRIES
Cars, car groups, animals or animal groups, and floats.  Other entries may be approved based on description of entry.  Entries should be patriotic in nature and show your pride in America and Star!

COST
There is a $20 registration fee for each group or float.  The funds raised will be used for prize money.  

Floats - $500 First Prize
Animal Group - $300 First Prize
Car Group - $100 First Prize

Winners will be chosen by the voting public and will be announced one week after the event.

PARADE CHECK IN INFORMATION

  • Volunteers arrive at 8:00 a.m.
  • Parade check-in at 9:00 a.m. in the El Mariachi Loco parking lot
  • Floats line up down Seneca Springs Way, cars line up in the Toon Town parking lot, horses stage in the Les Schwab parking lot (there will be volunteers to assist you)

NEW FOR 2023!  Due to safety concerns, tossing candy or other items from floats will NOT be permitted.  You may have members of your group walk along side of your float with a bucket of your giveaway/candy and either hand it to children or toss OVER their heads, encouraging them to stay out of the street.   If your candy is landing in the street, kids will run into the street to get it.  NO candy should be landing in the street!  Please help us keep our kiddos safe!

PARADE ROUTE AND ROAD CLOSURES

  • Parade begins at 10:00 a.m. sharp on State Street at Seneca Springs Way and travels west to Star Road.
  • Parade participants turn right on Star Road and can disband in either the Life Spring Church parking lot or Star Barn lot. Do not toss candy past Star Road.
  • State Street will be closed to thru traffic from about 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. from Plummer Road to Star Road.  Detour signs and traffic patrol will be directing traffic. 
  • Seneca Springs will be closed to southbound traffic at Vega from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

REGISTRATION

Once you complete the online entry form, you will be directed to the Access Idaho payment page.  Select "Hometown Parade" as your payment option.

If you do not register, you will not be entered to win the fan favorite prizes, the emcees will not announce your entry and you may not be permitted to enter the parade if the parade runs long. If you have any questions, please email dpartridge@staridaho.org

Parade registration will close on Wednesday, June 28, 2023.  Do to the expected number of parade particpants, "day of" entries will not be accepted this year.
